Kansas City Public School's tuition-free Signature Schools include nine campuses with unique academic themes and extracurricular opportunities for students from Pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Early Learning Community Schools
Early Learning Community Schools are tuition-free public schools that are part of the Kansas City Public School system and open to any student living within the KCPS boundaries. Early Learning Community Schools are for 3- and 4-year-olds and are offered on two campuses.
Alternative Schools are settings designed to accommodate children and adolescents’ educational, behavioral, and/or medical needs that cannot be adequately addressed in a traditional school environment. KCPS has two alternative schools serving students in grades K-12.
Career & Technical School
KCPS offers a multitude of career and technical programs mainly based at Manual Career and Technical Center (MCTC). MCTC is a shared-time attendance center for KCPS high school students and charter school students. The students generally attend MCTC during their 11th or 12th-grade years.
